People with fibromyalgia can contract coronavirus, and the combination of the two conditions can be fatal, since fibromyalgia is commonly accompanied by chronic fatigue and coronavirus is a family of viruses that attacks the respiratory system of people, aggravating fatigue. Despite this, people with fibromyalgia can fight the coronavirus, because despite suffering from musculoskeletal pain and fatigue, their immune system may have sufficient capacity to fight viruses.
Doctors and scientists around the world are trying to find a cure for coronavirus as well as fibromyalgia as people with fibromyalgia have no cure for their disease. To alleviate their symptoms they can control the diet, avoid inflammatory foods, do light exercises and avoid efforts. This cannot completely free them from pain although it can give them some pain relief.
